Your collection day
Your bin is collected once a week on a fixed day, set when you sign up. We confirm the day when you enquire.
Office towers and shared waste contracts
North Sydney, St Leonards and Chatswood are office and transport hubs, and many kitchens sit in towers or shopping centres where one waste contract covers every tenant. The NSW EPA is clear on how the food waste rules work there: if the property owner or facilities manager holds the waste contract, they are responsible for working with tenants, supplying enough food waste bins where the contract makes them responsible for bins, and making sure food waste is collected at least weekly.
So if you are a tenant, ask your centre or building manager what the plan is. If you are a building manager, we can talk to you about bins for several tenants at once. The thresholds are based on general waste bin capacity each week: 3,960L from 1 July 2026, 1,980L from 1 July 2028 and 720L from 1 July 2030.
Councils and household services here
According to the NSW EPA's council list, Lane Cove Municipal Council already provides a food and garden organics (FOGO) service to households, while North Sydney, Willoughby and Mosman currently provide garden organics only. That means fewer of your staff may have a food bin at home, so clear signage and a short briefing on day one make more difference here. Our starter kit includes kitchen signage for that reason. For the business rules, your council checks compliance for most sites; see our guide to the NSW food waste rules.
What it costs
The price is the same as everywhere we collect: $45 a 120L bin a week for up to 20kg a lift, $49 for up to 35kg and $54 for up to 50kg, ex GST, plus a 9.93% fuel levy shown as its own line. For the first few weeks we watch the real weights, then set the tier that fits. See how the weight tiers work.
