What weekly collection costs,
by weight.

Weekly food waste collection costs $45, $49 or $54 for each 120L bin, ex GST, depending on how heavy the bin is. A fuel levy of 9.93% is added as its own line. These are our current rates for the 2026-27 financial year.

Three weight tiers

One bin, one price,
set by weight.

Every tier is the same service: one 120L bin, collected weekly on a fixed day, with a kitchen caddy, certified compostable liners (AS 4736) and signage to start. The only difference is how much the bin weighs when it is lifted.

How the tiers work

We watch first,
then set the tier.

Food waste is heavy, and how heavy depends on the kitchen. Coffee grounds and wet peels weigh more than bread and light plate waste, and a busy week weighs more than a quiet one. So we do not ask you to guess.

  1. The first few weeks are a discovery period

We collect as normal and watch what your bin actually weighs at each lift.

  2. Then we set your tier

We move your site to the tier that fits the real weights, and tell you before anything changes on your invoice.

  3. If things change, we look again

A new menu, a second site or a quieter season can shift the weights. Ask us and we will review it.

If a bin goes over its tier limit, an overweight charge per kg applies above the limit. The rate is set out in your service agreement before it can apply, and the discovery period is there so it rarely does. If you regularly fill a bin to the top tier, a second bin is often the better answer, and we will say so.

The fuel levy

What the
fuel levy is.

The fuel levy is 9.93% of the collection price. It shows as its own line on the invoice, so you can always see the base price and the levy separately. The table gives a rough guide, before GST.

TierCollectionFuel levy (9.93%)Weekly total, ex GST
Standard, up to 20kg$45.00$4.47$49.47
Heavy, up to 35kg$49.00$4.87$53.87
Extra heavy, up to 50kg$54.00$5.36$59.36
Billing and bins

The rest of
the detail.

Billing

Billing is monthly by default. Annual billing is available on request. There is a contract, and you can cancel with notice; the details are in our terms.

More than one bin

Each 120L bin is priced on its own. A site with two bins pays for two weekly lifts, each at its own tier. Larger sites, or groups with several sites, can talk to us about how many bins they need and where they should sit; our advisory service can plan it with you.

How this compares with the NSW rules

The NSW food waste rules are based on the size of your general waste bins, not on what a food waste service costs. If your site is covered, you need a separate food waste collection either way. The full guide to the NSW food waste rules explains the thresholds and dates.

Prices are our current rates for the 2026-27 financial year, per 120L bin per weekly collection, ex GST. Levy amounts are rounded to the cent. Updated 11 October 2026.

How much does commercial food waste collection cost?
Our weekly food waste collection costs $45, $49 or $54 for each 120L bin a week, ex GST, depending on weight. A fuel levy of 9.93% is added as its own line.
How do I know which weight tier I am in?
You do not need to know at the start. For the first few weeks we watch the real weight of your bin at each lift, then move your site to the tier that fits and tell you before your invoice changes.
What happens if my bin is heavier than its tier?
An overweight charge per kg applies above the tier limit. The rate is set out in your service agreement before it can apply. If your bin is often heavy, moving up a tier or adding a second bin usually works out better, and we will suggest it.
Is GST included?
No. All prices are ex GST.
What is included in the price?
A weekly collection of one 120L bin on a fixed day, with a kitchen caddy, certified compostable liners (AS 4736) and kitchen signage to get started.
